Ingredients:
- 2 cups sushi rice, cooked and seasoned
- 1/2 cup cucumber, julienned
- 1/2 cup carrot, julienned
- 1/2 cup red bell pepper, julienned
- 1/2 cup avocado, sliced
- 1/4 cup pickled ginger
- 1/4 cup nori sheets, cut into thin strips
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds, toasted
- Soy sauce and wasabi, for serving
Instructions:
Prepare all your ingredients and have them ready for assembly
Line a square mold or baking dish with plastic wrap
Begin by layering a thin layer of sushi rice at the bottom of the mold, pressing it down firmly
Add a layer of cucumber, carrot, red bell pepper, and avocado on top of the rice
Repeat the layering process until the mold is filled, alternating colors to create a mosaic effect
Once filled, cover the top with another layer of sushi rice, pressing down firmly to compress the ingredients
Place a plate over the mold and flip it over to release the sushi onto the plate
Carefully remove the plastic wrap
Garnish the top of the sushi with pickled ginger, nori strips, and toasted sesame seeds
Slice the sushi into squares using a sharp knife
Serve with soy sauce and wasabi on the side
