Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 hamburger buns
- 4 slices of American cheese
- Lettuce leaves
- Sliced tomatoes
- Sliced onions
- Ketchup and mustard, for topping
Instructions:
Shape the ground beef into 4 burger patties that are all the same size
On both sides, season the patties with salt and pepper
Warm up a grill or griddle on the stove over medium-high heat
For medium-rare, put the burger patties on the grill and cook for three to four minutes on each side
You can cook them longer if you want to
Add a slice of American cheese to each patty and let it melt in the last minute of cooking
On the grill, toast the hamburger buns until they get a little brown
Place lettuce, tomato slices, and onions on the bottom half of each bun to make the burgers
Then, add ketchup and mustard to taste and top with a patty that has cheese on top
Place the other half of the bun on top and serve right away
