Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/4 cup chopped red onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 chipotle pepper in adobo sauce, minced
- 1 tsp adobo sauce from chipotle peppers
- 1/2 tsp ground cumin
- 1/2 tsp chili powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 hamburger buns
- 4 slices pepper jack cheese
- Lettuce leaves
- Sliced tomatoes
- Sliced red onion
- Chipotle mayo 1/4 cup mayo 1 tbsp adobo sauce
Instructions:
In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, chopped red onion, minced garlic, minced chipotle pepper, adobo sauce, ground cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper
Mix well
Form the mixture into 4 burger patties
Preheat your grill or stovetop pan over medium-high heat
Grill or cook the burger patties for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness
During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of pepper jack cheese on each burger patty and cover to melt the cheese
Toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in a toaster until lightly browned
Assemble the burgers by spreading chipotle mayo on the bottom half of each bun, adding lettuce leaves, a burger patty with melted cheese, sliced tomatoes, and red onion
Top with the other half of the bun and serve hot
